Far Cry 3: Blood Dragonįar from being a fun but shallow collection of knowing winks and references, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon actually felt authentic in its presentation, and at least part of that is due to the inclusion of Michael Biehn as the main protagonist, Rex “Power” Colt.
The only other thing it needed was someone flying off in a DeLorean and all bases would have been covered. Purple skies, neon lights and a brilliant soundtrack Blood Dragon was the ultimate nostalgia trip. The April Fool’s joke turned real, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was the standalone spin-off to the original FC 3, using the franchise’s familiar gameplay loop and adding the most bonkers 80s aesthetic into the mix. However, we’re not going to let that stop us, so here we go: can Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon get ported to the Switch, please? There’s no Ape Escape Trilogy remake, the rest of the Yakuza series hasn’t been announced for the Xbox and Jimmy still hasn’t heard anything about WiLD. If we wish for it, perhaps it’ll come true, right? So far, it hasn’t worked. Hopefully Power Glove will also release a physical album at some point, as it would totally be worth owning.Over here at Cultured Vultures, we like to write articles in order to put a certain energy out there into the universe. If you can't get enough of the soundtrack you can actually pick up the digital album from Amazon right now. Again, we're only halfway through the year but Blood Dragon has thoroughly impressed with its authentic recreation of a mature, sci-fi B-movie made to air on a Saturday afternoon. And maybe, just maybe it'll spur more publishers to use established proprietary engine assets to branch out and try new things on a smaller budget but based around a really big idea.sort of like how the community took it upon themselves to port GTA: San Andreas into GTA IV.īarring any scores that are as touching or moving as Journey, it's easy to believe that Power Glove could walk away the victor at this year's award show for their amazing score on Blood Dragon. It would be nice if Blood Dragon walked away with the win for best original score, as it would validate that a game doesn't have to be contemporary, overly-marketed game to win, or that it has to be running brand new proprietary tech to be rewarded for creativity.
